Easy Avocado Rose Tutorial

I love how an avocado rose can jazz up any dish, so I’m glad that my sweet friend Justine of @pastryandtravel made an Easy Avocado Rose Tutorial on Youtube. 🥑🌹

I had seen them around for months but never made one, because they looked complicated and frustrating to make. Then one day I just picked up a knife and went for it, and it really wasn’t difficult at all.

Here are more recipes that feature an avocado rose in my Fast & Healthy Weeknight Meals post!

There’s one trick I’ve learned that really makes a difference though. I find that it’s easier to style if you refrigerate the avocado, unpeeled, at least several hours before cutting it.

Also, I know the instructions tell you to use an under-ripe one, but honestly?! I love avocados and want to eat it right after I decorate my toast or whatever I’m using it with. You’ll have a harder time if it’s really overripe though, but those avos are best for mashing up for guacamole anyway.

Here’s the Easy Avocado Rose Tutorial YouTube instruction video that I learned from. And it really is simple. I just watched it once, and then made the rose a couple of weeks later. Still remembered how to do it, and I’m a klutz too, so if I can do it… 😂

The important thing is not to get intimidated by all the gorgeous roses you see on Instagram. Also don’t freak out if your avocado rose doesn’t turn out that great. Just take out your frustration by squishing it onto some toast and eating it! hah The main thing is to have fun.

My best roses have actually come about when I wasn’t really concentrating on it. I was listening to music, or focusing on other parts of the meal. The avocado rose was more of an afterthought.

It’s fun to make, and you can always hide the evidence by eating it up if it doesn’t turn out perfect. haha
